Chapter 2
The days of driving started early. Everyday there was a pulling, sometimes forward, sometimes back. She continued to drive. Stopping was sometimes necessary to let her mind catch up with the journey her body had already made.
The face was never far. Sometimes it would show up in the clouds gated between the mountains. It never lasted. Each mile let it dim and grow more transparent.
Soon she would not remember at all.
